Blogging on Bodies: A Welcome Note

This blog is designed specifically for students in "Bodies in American Culture" to post their thoughts, musings, music, visual archives, and approaches to analyzing how we understand gendered, sexualized, and racialized bodies in U.S. culture.  Talking about bodies publicly transgresses our notions of propriety, privacy, and sometimes decency, yet we are hyper-aware of bodies vis-a-vis popular culture--we can all articulate their "appropriate" shape, size, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and capacities.  This is a space for opening up that conversation, and getting honest and real about what bodies signify in our lives.
